Please Watch out for Bike Riders
OMG, Can someone tell me why NYC is so unfriendly to bike riders. while trying to get somewhere on a road that had no bike lane, but runs past several schools I got beeped at repeatedly for trying to get past a double parked car. And why when there is a bike lane I get yelled at when i ask someone not to park in the bike lane so i don’t get killed.
I almost got killed last semmester when someone couldn’t wait to make a right turn and just sped out into the street. when she stopped the car I asked well didn’t you see me, she was like yeah i saw you.
It’s not only a matter of courtesy that we have to share the road sometimes but it is a matter of safety. Bikers have a helmet to protect them. Drivers have tons of steel. Please be aware of bike riders, and give them a break every so often.
Also register for the Tour de Brooklyn and the Tour de Queens.
If you google them you can find them. They’re great bike rides, very easy going pace, and it’s a great way to learn about diff neighborhoods and how you can actually use ur bike to get places and not just as a recreation tool.
Remember, Bikers are people too.
