Protecting our Neighborhoods

Well,

I see the congestion pricing defeat as a victory for the real residents of New York City. I’m not knocking people who have come here to be a part of the city. I’m knocking the people who come to this city and only know the trendy New York, and take taxi’s to go 5 feet.

Some people move to Brooklyn to save money. Other people move to Brooklyn to live there, and why shouldn’t they have the right to drive in the city too, and why should we want BK to look like Manhattan.

It has a charm, and when you build monstrously large buildings next to houses that charm starts to disappear. Development isn’t bad, but we can’t let it get out of control.
